Three Great Amenities That Will Attract Residents To Your Inner City Apartment Community

Posted on: 8 January 2016

One of the biggest things that sets successful apartment communities apart from those that are always struggling to keep and attract residents is extra amenities. The type of extra amenities residents will appreciate depends on the type of community your apartments are located in. If you operate an inner city apartment community, here are three amenities that residents will find very useful.

Shuttles to the nearest bus or metro station.

In the city, many of your residents probably rely on public transportation to get around. Walking to the bus or train station from their apartments can be a hassle. Consider providing a shuttle to pick residents up at their apartments and drop them off at the bus or train station. You can offer this service just during busy hours when people are going to work, or more regularly if you have the resources. Consider contacting some local transportation companies and see if they are willing to contract with you for this service so you don't have to hire your own employees and purchase your own shuttle van.

A Garden or Park

Residents are going to want a space to retreat from the hubbub of the city. It will be of great benefit to them if that retreat is located right within their apartment community so they don't have to ride a bus or train to the park whenever they want to relax. Even if you only have a small space to dedicate to the project, work on planting some flowers, bushes, and trees. Incorporate some paths and benches so people have places to sit. Keep it modern by setting up WiFi in the park so residents can stay connected.

If you have a large enough area, you may be able to hold community events like fairs and festivals within it, which will only serve to please your residents even further.

 A Day Care Facility

For city dwellers without cars, it can be tough and time consuming to get children off to day care before heading to work. Building a day care facility within your apartment community eliminates a lot of hassle for them. It will only take them a few minutes to drop their kids off before heading off to work, and they can pick them up just as quickly when they come home. Make sure you look into local and state regulations regarding day cares if you choose to incorporate this amenity. In most areas, you'll need a special permit in order to operate a day care.
